456 of 545 delegates joined the platform over the 2-day event, and submitted 88 questions.
The client requested that we create event-specific polls to allow them to forecast the price of gold in one year’s time. We developed a new type of poll to achieve this.
They had already created an event app but chose OpenMeet to handle polling and questions. It was important that OpenMeet was seamlessly integrated with their existing technology and branded accordingly.
We gave everyone a postcard with instructions to download the event app and ask questions through it or visit the OpenMeet web link and ask questions there – providing two possible ways to access interactivity.
It was crucial for the platform to be nimble enough to make changes in real-time and be able to process answers immediately. The client needed to estimate the price of precious metals and instantly display the results to the main screen. This had to be seamless, easy for delegates to use, and with no errors.
The previous year their poll system didn’t work correctly when estimating the price of precious metals, due to issues with the poll set up and inability to specify price ranges and currencies. We took this into account and created a new feature allowing the correct formatting of responses with a specified currency and value range.
A multilingual platform giving all session chairs access to questions coming in. A system that is complementary to rather than a distraction from the event app.
High quality AV technology to ensure that the polls appearing onscreen are of the same style as the existing audience visual systems, as well as being clear and instantaneous. Flexibility in allowing delegate access to pre-event materials and polls as well as releasing documents in real-time and during specific sessions.
OpenMeet engagement team onsite and able to deliver last minute changes, including creating and editing polls and other meeting features in real-time.
We were required to work particularly closely with the onsite AV team, due to the fluid and fast-paced nature of the event.
As a result of our pre-event demonstration the client changed their agenda due to the engagement potential OpenMeet represented.
We enabled the client to shift their focus onto real-time communication, reflecting the discussion in the room. The role of the Chair was also changed, and they (and other panel members) were given an iPad to view questions coming in.
The platform provided a much simpler way for the audience to interact than in previous years, and resulted in a higher level of engagement and higher quality questions.
The financial press reported on the event and specifically the polling and their results positively, and we received a very high level of satisfaction from the client along with discussing follow-up events. Our team worked in partnership with the CEO of the client and her team and they were delighted with the results.
